Shadybrook Park

Completed in 2010, this project consists of design and construction of a stormwater filter, development of a small trail and footbridge, as well as reconstruction of the deteriorated south access steps and sandstone retaining wall. The stormwater filter mitigates runoff for up to 19 acres of watershed drainage and provides stormwater management for Mill Run. This collaboration with the City of Meadville has resulted in revitalization of a historical park through murals, trail development, and stormwater enhancement resulting in a more useable park.

A community signature mural transformed the graffiti covered flood control spillway, featuring signatures of people who are important in Meadville’s history.  Local residents were invited to add their names to the mural as part of the dedication ceremony in June 2011.
